Universal Dynamic Dashboard for Odoo

Get a Clear View of Your Business from One Dashboard

In most Odoo companies, important business numbers are scattered across different apps. Sales managers look at revenue and pipeline in one place, finance teams track invoices and receivables in another, warehouse teams monitor transfers elsewhere, and manufacturing teams check production status in yet another menu. Getting a clear, connected view of the business often means constant switching — or building custom dashboards from scratch for every team.
Universal Dynamic Dashboard solves this problem. It is a complete, reusable dashboard builder designed for Odoo Enterprise. You can connect any standard or custom model, configure the widgets you need, arrange them on a professional layout, and share the result with the right people. Every number comes from live Odoo data — never hard-coded values.

Purpose of the Module

The main goal is to give consultants, developers, and business users one flexible framework instead of creating one-off dashboards for each module. You build once, reuse across teams, and keep everything up to date with real-time information through domains, aggregations, group-by fields, and date filters.
Dashboards can be duplicated, exported as JSON, shared with users or groups, and scheduled for automatic email delivery from the backend.

Real-World Problem It Solves

Different teams need different views, but Odoo’s native structure spreads the information across menus. Universal Dashboard brings cross-functional KPIs onto one executive screen. A sales manager, finance controller, and warehouse supervisor can all look at the same board and click through to the exact filtered records they need — list, form, pivot, or graph view.
This is especially useful for companies that want a single “Company Operations Overview” style board that combines commercial, finance, procurement, inventory, and master data in one clean layout.

Main Features

Dashboard Builder & Home Screen
From the Statistics home screen you can create new dashboards, open existing ones, duplicate them, or set a default. Each dashboard supports a cover image that appears on the home grid and in the Configuration Kanban view, making boards easy to recognise at a glance.
Eight built-in templates are ready for Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, Accounting, CRM, Project, and HR. These templates pre-create useful widgets when the related apps are installed. Full dashboard configurations (widgets, filters, theme, layout) can be imported and exported as JSON for backup, migration between databases, or sharing with other teams.
Access, Visibility & Sharing
You have clear control over who sees each dashboard:
  • Private – only the owner
  • Shared – owner plus users or groups added on the Sharing tab
  • All Users – visible to everyone, with the option to limit it to specific Odoo groups (for example Accounting / Invoicing & Banks)
On the Sharing tab you can grant Read Only or Can Edit rights to individual users or groups. Dashboard Managers can see every board, but the actual numbers always respect each user’s normal Odoo access rights (sales, accounting, inventory, etc.). Opening a dashboard does not require special technical model permissions.
Widget Library (13 Types)
The module includes a wide range of widgets:
KPI, Statistic, Chart, Table, List, Progress, Gauge, Percentage, Ranking, Recent, Top, HTML, and Image.
Charts support nine different types: Bar, Line, Pie, Doughnut, Area, Stacked Bar, Horizontal Bar, Funnel, and Gauge. HTML widgets are particularly useful for creating clean section headers in executive layouts (Board Brief, Commercial, Finance, Procurement, etc.).
Data Configuration & Filters
You can search and select any readable Odoo model — standard apps like sale.order or account.move, as well as custom models. Configure measures, aggregation (count, sum, avg, min, max), group-by fields, date grouping (day, week, month, quarter, year), and domain filters.
Each dashboard can have a default model, default date field, and default date preset (This year, This month, All time, etc.) so widgets stay in sync. Global filters for date, company, user, and custom fields are available on every board. KPIs support target values and period comparison (previous period or previous year).
Click actions let you open a List, Form, Pivot, Graph, external URL, or a configured Odoo Action when a user clicks a widget, chart slice, or table row.
Layout, Edit Mode & Interaction
Widgets sit on a flexible 12-column grid. You can drag and drop them, resize (1–12 columns wide and 1–8 rows high), duplicate, or delete them in Edit mode. Save keeps your changes; Discard reloads the previous layout.
Full-screen view is available for charts and tables. Drill-down works on KPIs, chart slices, and table rows, applying the correct domain and filters automatically. Optional auto-refresh (minimum 10 seconds) keeps data current without leaving the page.
Export, Email & Scheduling
Export options include CSV (flat table), Excel workbook (multi-sheet), PDF/Print (layout snapshot), and JSON (full configuration). An email wizard lets you send the dashboard to partners with optional PDF or Excel attachments. From the backend you can schedule daily, weekly, or monthly emails that deliver the dashboard automatically.
Themes & Appearance
Eight preset themes are included: Default, Blue, Green, Purple, Dark, Professional, Modern, and Minimal. These control primary, secondary, background, card, text, border, and chart colours. Light and dark modes are available, along with per-widget accent colours and Font Awesome icons. Cover images make dashboards easy to identify on the home screen and Kanban view.

Odoo Enterprise AI Integration

Another feature of the Universal Dynamic Dashboard is its integration with the official Odoo Enterprise AI application.
When Odoo Enterprise AI is installed and configured, users can interact with the Dashboard Assistant through Odoo Discuss.
Instead of manually configuring every widget, users can describe what they want in natural language.
For example, a user could ask for a sales dashboard containing total revenue, quotation count, monthly sales, and top customers.
The AI assistant can identify the available models and fields, create the requested widgets, and update the dashboard.
It can also provide insights based on the live dashboard data.
The AI follows the user's normal Odoo access rights. It cannot use AI to access information that the user is not normally allowed to read.
The dashboard can also refresh automatically after the AI creates or updates widgets, so users do not have to manually reload the browser.

Real-World Dashboards for Different Business Areas

The flexibility of the dashboard becomes especially useful when different departments need different information.
A sales team can create a dashboard around revenue, quotations, sales orders, customer performance, products, and sales trends.
A finance team can focus on invoices, receivables, payables, payments, outstanding balances, and accounting activity.
For inventory, the dashboard can bring together stock levels, incoming and outgoing transfers, product movements, warehouse performance, and replenishment information.
Manufacturing teams can monitor manufacturing orders, work orders, production progress, work center performance, material consumption, downtime, and other production information.
Instead of creating completely different reporting systems for each department, all of these dashboards can be created using the same dashboard framework.

A Dashboard That Can Grow with Your Odoo System

Businesses rarely stay the same. New products, departments, workflows, custom models, and reporting requirements are added over time.
A dashboard system needs to be flexible enough to change with those requirements.
Because the Universal Dynamic Dashboard can work with different Odoo models, fields, filters, aggregations, and layouts, users can continue creating new dashboards as their reporting needs change.
A small company may only need a simple sales dashboard with a few KPIs and charts. A larger organization may need separate dashboards for sales, accounting, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, and management.
The same framework can support both.

Who Benefits Most

Consultants who need a reusable framework instead of rebuilding dashboards for every project
Developers working with standard or custom models who want a clean, configurable base
Business users and managers who prefer interactive, live dashboards over static reports or constant menu switching

Conclusion

Business data is most useful when it is easy to understand and available when people need it.
Odoo already stores a large amount of business information, but users may still need to move between different applications and reports to get a complete picture.
A Universal Dynamic Dashboard brings that information together in a flexible and interactive way.
Users can create dashboards for different Odoo models, display live data through different widgets, apply filters, compare performance, drill down into records, customize layouts, control access, export reports, schedule emails, and optionally use Odoo Enterprise AI to work with dashboards through natural language.

Instead of searching through different screens, bring the important numbers together in one place.

How Can Businesses Get a Clear View of Their Odoo Data?

Businesses often manage sales, purchases, accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM, projects, and other operations across different areas of Odoo. While the information is available, moving between multiple menus and reports to understand overall performance can take time and make it harder to get a quick view of what is happening.
A Universal Dynamic Dashboard brings important business information together in one place using live Odoo data. Teams can create dashboards with KPIs, charts, tables, progress indicators, rankings, filters, and drill-downs based on their own requirements. Dashboards can be customized for different departments, shared with the right users, exported as reports, scheduled by email, and optionally connected with Odoo Enterprise AI. This gives managers and teams a simpler way to monitor important information, understand trends, and move from summary data to the actual Odoo records when needed.
