This module revolutionizes how you interact with your mobile device while working in Odoo. It adds a wireless, interactive Android screen mirroring widget directly to your Odoo dashboard. Operate mobile apps, browse your phone(s) internal storage, and instantly attach mobile screenshots or files to any Odoo record without ever using a USB cable or cluttering your email with file transfers. You do not need to install any new application or APK file on your mobile phone to use this module. It works directly with the native tools already built into your Android device.

Purpose

The main purpose of the Mobile Connect widget is to eliminate context switching and manual data entry. By default, transferring mobile data (like WhatsApp chats, field photos, or receipts) to Odoo requires third-party cloud apps, emails, or physical cables. This tool bridges that gap by putting your actual phone inside your Odoo screen, allowing you to seamlessly control it and inject data straight into your ERP.

    Protects your privacy automatically. If your phone screen turns off or locks, the Odoo file explorer instantly hides your data and displays a lock screen until you physically wake and unlock the device.

    Choose between a Soft Disconnect to temporarily close the window, or a Secure Disconnectthat permanently closes the wireless port, requiring a physical USB connection to reauthorize for maximum enterprise security.

Prerequisites and Initial Setup

Before you can connect your phone to Odoo for the first time, you must enable Developer Options on your Android device. Follow these exact steps to prepare your phone:

  1. Open Settings: Open the Settings app on your Android phone.
  2. Find About Phone: Scroll down and tap on "About Phone".
  3. Unlock Developer Options: Find the "Build Number" and tap it seven times to unlock Developer Options.
  4. Access Developer Options: Go back to the main Settings menu and open "Developer Options".
  5. Enable USB Debugging: Turn on "USB Debugging".
  6. Enable Wireless Debugging: Turn on "Wireless Debugging".
  7. Initial USB Connection: Plug your phone into your computer using a USB cable for the initial setup.
  8. Authorize Computer: A popup will appear on your phone screen asking to allow USB debugging. Check the box to "Always allow from this computer" and tap allow.
  9. Find Phone IP Address: Look inside the "Wireless Debugging" menu to find your phone(s) IP address.
  10. Connect and Go Wireless: Enter this IP address into the Odoo widget settings to connect. Once connected successfully, you can remove the USB cable and work completely wireless.

Limitations

This tool is designed specifically for Android devices; iOS (iPhones/iPads) are not supported. The initial setup requires "Developer Options" and "Wireless Debugging" to be enabled on the Android device. The phone and the PC running the Odoo server must be on the same local network (Wi-Fi/LAN) for the wireless connection to succeed. Highly complex 3D mobile games or DRM protected video streaming apps (like Netflix or banking apps) may show a black screen during mirroring due to native Android security policies. Audio forwarding is not supported; only visual mirroring and file transfers are handled.
