Measurement Book Management System for Odoo 19 Enterprise

This app gives construction, civil engineering, EPC, infrastructure, and contracting companies a complete Measurement Book (MB) Management System directly inside Odoo. The Measurement Book becomes the primary operational document used by Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Resident Engineers, Consultants, and Clients to measure completed work, certify quantities, and generate Interim Payment Certificates (IPC).

Unlike traditional Excel-based measurement sheets, every measurement, approval, revision, and quantity calculation is maintained directly within Odoo giving you a complete, auditable quantity history from BOQ to certified payment.

The Measurement Book integrates seamlessly with your existing Probuse construction applications Interim Payment Certificate (IPC), Project BOQ Construction Contracting (+ Extension), Construction Job Costing Management, and Job Order Subcontracting so that quantities certified on site flow straight through to IPC generation and, from there, to Customer Invoices and Vendor Bills.

Main Features:

  • Create Measurement Books (MB) against approved Project BOQ items, with each MB carrying its own MB Number, Project, Construction Contract, Customer, BOQ, BOQ Revision, Measurement Period, and Measurement Date.
  • Capture site and location references on every Measurement Book Construction Site, Zone, Floor, and Chainage / Location Reference along with Engineer, Prepared By, and Quantity Surveyor.
  • Add multiple Measurement Lines to each MB, with every line linked to a BOQ Item and carrying Description, Unit of Measure, Calculation Type, Length, Width, Height, Number (Nos.), Manual Quantity, and Remarks.
  • Automatic Quantity Calculation Engine that computes quantities based on the selected Calculation Type: Manual, Length, Area (L x W), Volume (L x W x H), Running Meter, Weight, or Count.
  • Support for multiple Units of Measure Meter, Square Meter, Cubic Meter, Running Meter, Kilogram, Metric Ton, Number, Feet, Square Feet, and Cubic Feet.
  • Running and cumulative quantity tracking on every BOQ item: Original BOQ Quantity, Previous Certified Quantity, Current Measured Quantity, Current Certified Quantity, Total Certified Quantity, Remaining Quantity, and Progress Percentage, calculated automatically.
  • Built-in quantity validation measured quantity cannot exceed BOQ quantity, negative quantities are blocked, mandatory fields are enforced, and approval is required before certification.
  • Attach Site Photographs, Drawings, Inspection Reports, Test Reports, and PDF Documents to every Measurement Book, all retained as part of its history.
  • Complete Revision History and audit trail on every Measurement Book Created By, Created Date, Modified By, Modified Date, Revision Number, and Change Summary for every modification.
  • Multi-level Approval Workflow: Draft -> Site Engineer Verification -> Quantity Surveyor Review -> Resident Engineer Approval -> Consultant Approval -> Client Certification -> Approved, with each step recording the user, date & time, comments, and digital signature. Once approved, the Measurement Book becomes read-only.
  • Automatically generated Quantity Abstract (BOQ Quantity, Previous Certified, Current Certified, Total Certified, and Remaining Quantity) that becomes the basis for Interim Payment Certificate (IPC) generation.
  • Approved Measurement Books automatically generate Interim Payment Certificates, carrying forward Project, Contract, Quantity Abstract, Certified Quantity, and Billing Period, with Retention, Advance Recovery, Withholding Tax, and Net Payable calculations remaining within the IPC module.
  • Approved IPCs flow through to Vendor Bills and Customer Invoices, keeping site certification and billing fully connected.
  • Create Measurement Books directly from subcontract Job Orders using a Smart Button, with certified quantity tracking against subcontracted work.
  • Search and filter Measurement Books by Project, Customer, Contract, BOQ, Site, Engineer, Date, and Status.
  • Role-based security for Site Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Resident Engineer, Consultant, Client, Project Manager, and Administrator.

Integration with Existing Probuse Modules:

  • Project BOQ: Measurement Lines link directly to BOQ Items, with BOQ Revision support, quantity validation against BOQ, and automatic BOQ balance/progress updates.
  • Construction Management (Project / Job Orders / Contracts / Job Cost Sheet): Executed Quantity, Project Progress, Physical Progress, and Job Progress are updated automatically as Measurement Books are certified.
  • Purchase Management: Approved Measurement Books update Purchase Order Ordered, Delivered, Certified, and Remaining quantities.
  • Sales Management: Approved Measurement Books update Sales Order Ordered, Delivered, Certified, and Remaining quantities.
  • Inventory: Material Consumption is compared against Certified Quantity to highlight material variance.
  • Job Cost Sheet & Project Costing: Executed Quantity, Job Progress, Job Cost Analysis, and Physical Progress are updated automatically project financial budgets remain controlled by accounting.
  • Subcontract Management: Create Measurement Books directly from a Job Order via Smart Button, with full certified quantity tracking.
  • Interim Payment Certificate (IPC): Approved Measurement Books automatically generate IPCs, which in turn generate Vendor Bills and Customer Invoices through Accounting.
